MYSORE: Lambasting the state government for the decision of closing Kannada schools, litterateur De Javare Gouda ridiculed that if Government wants to close Kannada schools, let it abolish Primary and Secondary Education Department too. He demanded that government make studying in Kannada medium school mandatory for all the children till SSLC, and provide job for Kannada students. He regretted that corruption has pervaded the education sector. He urged government to put an end to collecting of hefty donations by English Medium Schools and demanded that tax be collected from private schools. He was speaking after the inauguration of Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations at Jaganmohan Palace on Monday. He said that, Karnataka is a hub of literature and a very prominent language. Many developmental works took place in Kannada and the language has grown to great hights, he said.“Karnataka has very good History. When compared to any other state, Karnataka stands first in socio-economic-culture-religion, and people from across the country visit Karnataka to know more about it. The scope and growth in literature is more in Karnataka, but needs publicity,” he opined.
