Kasab is the lone terrorist captured in the Mumnai terror attacks.

New Delhi: Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist captured in Mumbai terror attacks has been remanded in police custody till February 13.

Kasab has been in custody since January 19 in connection with the Chhatrapati Shivaji rail terminus shootout, where he and his accomplice Ismail Khan began firing indiscriminately at passengers there.

Kasab has been in police custody since his arrest on the night of November 26 and has been booked in 12 cases by the city police.

Due to security concerns, he has not been produced in an open court so far, police said.

The shootout at Girgaum Chowpatty, ambush on a police vehicle near Rang Bhavan auditorium killing three senior police officials including ATS chief Hemant Karkare, a vehicle theft vehicle at Marine Drive and the shootout at Cama Hospital are the four other cases in which Kasab has been in police custody.

Kasab, who is believed to be a resident of Faridkot in Pakistan, has had no legal representation so far and sought assistance from the Pakistani government.

He has so far not accepted legal assistance from local lawyers who have offered to represent him.

Over 180 people were killed and more than 300 injured in the attacks on November 26 by at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Hotels Taj and Trident and Nariman house.

Nine of the terrorists who were involved in the attacks were killed in the standoff with security forces.
