HYDERABAD: Arvind Kejriwal, a member of Team Anna, called on TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday to seek his support for the team’s fight against corruption.A day ahead of the all-party meeting to be convened by the Centre on drafting the Lokpal Bill, Arvind Kejriwal met Naidu at the latter’s residence. Both of them had a lengthy discussion for about one and half hours.Speaking to reporters later, Kejriwal said that Naidu supported their fight against corruption and also expressed his willingness to support the Bill in the Parliament.Kejriwal said that Naidu pointed out that certain dangerous clauses were proposed in the Lokpal Bill and wanted a debate on this. Kejriwal stressed the need to bring Prime Minister under the purview of Lokpal. Lokpal would not act as a parallel government, it would only help better functioning of the government, Kejriwal said. He pointed out that several agencies in other countries were working independently and such a situation was not there in our country. He said Team Anna was taking the support of all political parties and people’s organisations for the Lokpal Bill. TDP MPs Nama Nageswara Rao said they would discuss the issue in the party on the suggestions to be given to the Centre. MV Mysoora Reddy too was present at the meeting. TDP would attend the all-party meeting in Delhi on Sunday.It may be recalled that Naidu had already demanded that the Prime Minster be brought under the ambit of Lokpal.
