KOCHI: The CBI special court on Monday severely criticised the CBI team which is probing the Kaviyoor-Kiliroor cases. During the hearing on a plea filed by Crime Magazine Editor TP Nandakumar, the court sought explanation from the investigating agency for not looking into the ‘different aspects’ of the case. The court asked the CBI why any investigation was not carried out into the point in post-mortem report that semen was found on Anagha’s body. Narayanan Namboothiri, wife Sobhana, daughters Anagha and Akhila and son Akshay of Kaviyoor, were found having committed suicide on September 28, 2004. The petitioner submitted that Latha Nair was the only accused in the chargesheet filed by the CBI. He alleged that there were interventions to sabotage the inquiry. The court further observed that the CBI did not look into the letter sent by Anagha’s friend to High Court Judge. In the letter, it was revealed that Anagha was subjected to frequent sexual abuse by the highly-influential people.
