Kin of labourers to get pension

CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday ordered a family pension of `400 per month for construction workers who have registered themselves with the Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Board, in case the spouse of any worker dies.  The CM also directed the authorities to amend appropriately Clause 13 of the TN Manual Workers (Construction Workers) Welfare Scheme to give effect to this initiative.As per the announcement of the CM, wife of a construction worker will get the pension in the event of  his death and vice versa.  During her earlier tenure as Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa launched the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Construction Workers) Welfare Scheme in 1994.
