KOZHIKODE: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee(KPCC) has demanded the UDF government to promulgate an Ordinance to plug the loopholes in the existing anti defection law, in the wake of a spate of no confidence motions in local bodies.
While speaking at the district congress special convention here on Thursday, Chennithala said that the LDF and the BJP were leaving no stone unturned to sabotage the UDF rule in local bodies. "The LDF and the BJP are intensely persuading the UDF members for defection and ditching through various means.

KPCC is receiving a number of complaints from the UDF councillors regarding this and we have demanded the UDF government to bring in the necessary legislation to tackle defections," he said.
