THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala University has announced the details of the single window system for admission to the arts and science colleges in the  government, aided and self-financing sector and UIT centres for the first year degree course.The fees structure in self-financing and UIT centres are different from  government colleges and aided colleges. The varsity will directly conduct the allotment to the merit/SC/ST/SEBC reservation seats in the single window system.But those who are applying to the management and community quota seats should apply directly to the colleges.Those who are applying in the physically challenged, Tamil linguistic minorities, natives of Lakshadweep and sports quota categories should file the application forms and challan receipts downloaded from the university website after paying the fees at any branch of State Bank of Travancore along with self-attested copies of the additional qualification.Those who wish to apply in more than one college could use copies of the the form downloaded from the website and can use the copy after paying fees in the University Challan receipt. Meanwhile, the original challan receipt should be kept by the applicant and present in the college where he/she gets admission.One seat each in every college is reserved for sports quota and three percent of total seats in government colleges are reserved for the physically challenged. Those certified by the district medical board with 40 percent disability are eligible for the reservation under the physically challenged category.SC/ST Reservation Those who apply for the SC/ST reservation seats should note down it in the Candidate Profile Registration page while doing online registration and should present it to the university along with the self-attested copies of the religion/caste certificate and the printout of the online applications.SEBC ReservationThose who are economically and educationally backward and the total income from all sources of family should not exceeding Rs 4.5 lakh are eligible for reservation in this quota. They should follow the procedure mentioned in the above paragraph.BPL ReservationCandidates from the forward castes with financially weak background applying for seats reserved in the government colleges should note it down in the Candidate Profile Registration page while doing online registration and should present it to the university along with the self-attested copies of the religion/caste certificate, income certificate which states that they are below poverty line and the printout of the online applications. Application fees for general category is Rs 300 and for SC/ST Rs 100.EligibilityThe applicants should have passed the Higher Secondary/Vocational Higher Secondary examination recognised by the University. The qualifications required for each programme will be described in the prospectus published in the website.
