CHENNAI: The sixth edition of Kurukshetra, organised by College of Engineering, Guindy, is set to take place from February 1 to 4 on the college campus. The first student-run techno-management fest to be awarded UNESCO patronage will attract close to 10,000 participants in person and 10,000 online, said vice-chancellor of Anna University, Mannar Jawahar, at a press meet here on Friday. The highlight of the four-day fest will be a lecture on the evolution of technology by the father of wi-fi, Vic Hayes. The 1996 Nobel laureate in Chemistry, Sir Harold Kroto, will also speak on on nanotechnology via video conference. All guest lectures will be streamed online, in order to increase virtual participation. One of the novel stalls will be CEG Startup K!orner, which will provide an opportunity for CEG startups to showcase their business models and have some brand recognition in the process.A member of the organising committee said that over 25,000 students had registered for various events, which is an increase from the 18,000 participants last year.  Robotics workshops, coding competitions and the biggest crowd-puller, quizzes, are expected to attract students. The total prize money to be won is `10 lakhs.
