Leather showroom gutted

CUTTACK: Property worth Rs 1 crore was gutted after a fire broke out in Sreeleather showroom located near Dolamundai on Wednesday morning. The three-storey building was engulfed by the flames which started at about 4.30 am. As smoke bellowed, locals informed the fire office. So strong were the flames that four fire tenders could manage to control it by 10 am. The shop was completely reduced to ashes while the damage is estimated at Rs 1 crore and above. Fire-fighters had to cut through the roof to fight the flames. Since it was leather items showroom, toxic fumes emanated forcing the firemen to use masks. The shop is owned by S Behera. However, no one was hurt in the incident.
