With the Opposition disrupting Parliamentary proceedings and Indian envoy returning from New York, PM says its time to discuss Volcker.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday said that the government is ready to discuss the Volcker report in both Houses of Parliament.
"Government is prepared to discuss the Volcker Committee report today and now," he said in a statement issued by his media adviser Sanjaya Baru.
The PM described the disruption of parliamentary proceedings on Thursday by the Opposition as being an "unfortunate" incident.
The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha sessions had to be adjourned on the issue of Iraqi oil pay-offs scam as the Opposition staged a walked out in protest of the Volcker issue.
