Madhubani saris at Seematti

KOCHI: The Madhubani cotton sari collection in natural colours and nature-inspired motifs has arrived for this Onam season at Seematti. A tradition which originated in Bihar’s Mithila region in seventh century AD has survived to this day with timely enhancements and modifications. Social occasions, scenes from epics, flowers, vines, bees etc are the designs in Madhubani. The saris are well appreciated in Europe and the US. They are  priced from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000.“Madhubani cottons and Kanchi satin brocades are be the main attractions for women for this Onam,” said Beena Kannan
