Madhya Pradesh has received almost full quota of annual rainfall a month in advance, meteorological sources said on Sunday.
The total rainfall recorded in the state till Saturday was 972.7 mm against its total seasonal rainfall of 990 mm. Met sources said normally 19 per cent higher or lower seasonal rainfall is considered to be normal.
The state is bound to get surplus rain as almost a month is left before monsoon recedes, they said. Monsoon arrived in the state before its schedule in June this year and a good rainfall was recorded this season.
Some MP districts have received excess rainfall, including Guna which recorded 1,317 mm against its normal rains of 623.8 mm, with 111 per cent surplus downpour.
Indore recorded 1,074.8 mm against its normal rainfall of 543.2 mm - a 98 per cent surplus and Burhanpur district recorded 1,018.4 mm rains against its normal quota of 525.5 mm, a 94 per cent surplus rainfall.
Sagar district received 1,419.8 mm rainfall against normal limit of 736.5 mm with 93 per cent excess while Shivpuri got 984.5 mm downpour against 517.8 mm expected recording 90 per cent surplus rains.
Only two districts of the state - Anuppur and Shahdol- received rains below normal quota. Anuppur got 652.3 mm rainfall against its 797.3 mm normal record while Shahdol received 551.3 mm against it average of 654.3 mm.
