Mumbai: Collected speeches usually don’t draw attention, but Rajniti Ke Us Par (Beyond Politics) will be interesting: the foreword to A B Vajpayee's speeches is written by Pramod Mahajan.
Mahajan, who died in Mumbai on Wednesday, wrote the foreword with keen interest and wanted the book released between May 10 and 23.
"The book is a compilation of 24 non-political speeches given by Vajpayee, on a wide variety of topics like art, music, public life, democracy and literature," said Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, director general of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, the book’s publisher.
"This was the last foreword Mahajan wrote. As chairman of Probodhini, he took keen interest in the book," he said.
"Mahajan led Prabodhini, a leadership training institute in Thane, for 16 years," said Ashwin Kumar, editor of Hindi daily Nirbhay Pathik, who has edited the book.
Mahajan, the BJP’s general secretary, was shot at by his younger brother Pravin Mahajan on April 22.
