BANGALORE: The Namma Bengaluru Foundation (NBF) recently held an interactive session that saw over 50 office bearers of seven prominent resident welfare associations in the city listen and debate various issues grappling the city. The session had positive interaction with the residents and key speakers who want to make a difference to the city. The session started off with Dr Ashwin Mahesh’s presentation on the proposed BMRG act that makes every citizen an active stakeholder in the development of one’s neighbourhood followed Dr Shankara Prasad’s called out to the citizens to demand a Sampoorna Governance package that he has developed over the decade which is a measure to check corruption in the system. Dr Meenakshi Bharath’s complete solution for a beautiful city through effective solid waste management practices were also presented at the event.  Remembering lives’ lost in the tragic Carlton Tower’s Fire Tragedy, Uday Vijayan threw some light on the abrupt measures taken by the government to check on fire prevention in the city and how citizens should demand for a more stringent action against the existing fire-safety violations in the city. Quoting an example of Public partnerships, BWSSB charted some quick facts and solutions to harvest the precious source of life —water through their beautifully developed rain water harvesting techniques. The attending resident welfare associations were - Kuvempunagar Resident’s Welfare Association, Panduranganagar Resident’s Welfare Association, Malleshwaram Resident’s Welfare Association, HAL II Stage Resident’s Welfare Association, Hanumanthappa Layout Resident’s Welfare Association, Rammurthy Nagar Resident’s Welfare Association and the Koramangala Resident’s Welfare Association.
