MBBS top ranker says she wants to study hearts

NAMAKKAL: MBBS top ranker Sivaranjani says her ambition is to become a cardiologist in the future. Hailing from a village, Kullamanaickenpatti, near here, she scored 1,182 with four centums in the Plus Two examination. Speaking to Express, she said that she got the first rank in the medical rank list as expected. “I want to pursue a course in cardiology after completing MBBS. I am very much interested in the study and research of hearts,” she said.Sivaranjani, who studied in the Sri Vidhya Mandhir HSS in Rasipuram, attributed her success to her school secretary, principal, teachers and her parents. “I studied in Sri Vidhya Mandhir from LKG to Plus Two and I am grateful to all those who supported me to achieve this rank,” she said. S S Dhakshini, who ranked second in the MBBS list, wants to become a psychiatrist. She said she is much interested in studying the functioning of the human psyche and wants to do research on the behaviour of men and women.A student of Green Park MHSS, Namakkal, Dhakshini scored 1,187 marks with four centums in the Plus Two exam. She hails from Kothamangalam, a village near Namakkal. MJ Dunasheba Soundarya, the MBBS sixth ranker and a student of SBOA Matriculation School, wants to become a pediatrician.  “I had always wanted to be a doctor, a pediatrician in fact, because I love kids. I scored 1184/1200 in my Class XII exams. But I was not a hardworking student. During exams, I would begin studying the previous week, and intensify my preparation during the weekends. I am glad that I have come in the Top 10 ranks, which will make me the first doctor in my family. I would like to be admitted to the MMC or CMC, Vellore (where I have qualified for interview stage),” she says.
