New Delhi: A new non claustrophobic and Silent MRI machine that promises to make life easier for patients, over the conventional MRI has recently been launched in India.

One can now say goodbye to the noise and the claustrophobia one associates with while undergoing an MRI brain scan as the new MR 750Q - Silent MRI System promises to do away with it.

"There is no claustrophobia, no din. Patients feel so much better," says Dr Harsh Mahajan, Director of Mahajan Imaging Centre.

Dr Sudipto Pakrasi, Chairman, Dept of Opthalmology, Medanta Medicity agrees as he says that the new machine helps in better diagnosis.

Also, the doctors say that the new MRI is especially helpful for the elderly and children.

"Earlier we had to sedate children because they simply could not go through the process. It was too traumatic, now we don't have to," says Dr Harsh Mahajan.

People who have undergone a scan with the new SILENT MRI are all praise for it. It is no more intimidating, says one. While the other agrees, saying, it doesn't make any noise.

And the best thing about this latest entrant is that it costs the same as traditional brain MRI scan does, which is around Rs 5-6,000.
