Melzer-Petzschner beat Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski in straights sets.
New York: Austria's Jurgen Melzer and Germany's Philipp Petzschner won their second Grand Slam doubles title, beating Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski in straights sets in the US Open final on Saturday.
The ninth-seeded Melzer and Petzschner won 6-2, 6-2 in 49 minutes. They also won Wimbledon last year.
Fyrstenberg and Matkowski, from Poland, were seeded sixth. This was their first-ever Grand Slam final appearance.
Melzer and Petzschner combined for 23 winners and just six unforced errors.
Earlier, the Polish pair had defeated the fifth-seeded Indo-Pak pair of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi in the semi-finals and Indians Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi in the quarter-finals.
