Minister holds out hope for dying spinning mill

KARAIKAL: Puducherry UT minister M Chandrakasu has expressed hope that the new government would find a solution for the problems plaguing the Jayaprakash Narayan Cooperative Spinning Mills (JPCOSPIN), Karaikal. The minister, who arrived in Karaikal after taking charge as a minister in the Rangasamy cabinet, pointed out that he would concentrate on the overall development of Karaikal district.“All the five assembly segments in Karaikal district will get equal attention and long pending local problems will be resolved,” he said.Referring to the problems at JPCOSPIN, where the workers have been on various agitations with salary not being disbursed for the past four months, the minister said that the CM had commenced talks with the workers’ union and that a solution to all the problems would be found soon. He would review the progress of the development, he added.
