HYDERABAD: Primary education minister S Sailajanath has landed himself in trouble for defying the Central government and visiting China in his personal capacity. A former activist of Students' Federation of India (SFI), Sailajanath was keen on taking part in a week-long international conference of youth affairs being held in China. He sought permission from the external affairs ministry to allow him to visit China in his official capacity but it was rejected. But the minister left for China.  On landing in China, Sailajanath identified himself as a minister from India. Chinese authorities called the MEA officials only to be told that the minister has not been accorded official permission for the visit.A miffed MEA now sought the details from the state government on the whole issue.Sources in the chief minister's office told Express that it is mandatory for any minister to take permission from the MEA to visit a foreign country.
