Unidentified persons, on Thursday, broke glass windowpanes of the booking counter at a city multiplex, which was selling advance tickets for Hindi film "Golion Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela", which is releasing on Friday.

The Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh starrer landed in controversy after members of "Kshatriya" and "Rabari" communities objected to use of certain words, which they claimed showed them in poor light in the film, forcing director Sanjay Leela Bhansali to replace them.

"Around 15 people, with faces covered with cloths, came to the booking centre of the multiplex where tickets for the film were being sold. They attacked the booking clerk, broke glass panes of the booking centre and left," a police officer said.

The multiplex later stopped selling tickets for the opening day show.

After the controversy, Bhansali had issued an apology and agreed to change words deemed "provocative" by some groups.

Kshatriya community members denied any involvement in the vandalism and said the issue was settled after Bhansali offered a public apology. They said anti-social elements were behind the multiplex attack.
