PRODDATUR: Former MLA N Varadarajulu Reddy has made it clear that there is no political motive behind the statement given by his son Konda Reddy before the CBI on leasing of iron ore mines to Obulapuram Mining Company and it is purely his personal view.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress office here on Wednesday evening, he said it was true that his son Konda Reddy applied for mining lease. As part of its probe, the CBI summoned him. "If we want to make the OMC lease a political issue, we would have given the statement in Hyderabad through a minister or an MLA," he said. "My son deposed before the CBI thrice. Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy was present in the CBI office when Konda Reddy went there for the third time. It is not wrong to say that injustice was done to his son by Jagan as it was an undeniable fact. It was most unfortunate that YSRC leaders gave a political colour to the statement of Konda Reddy." However, he said his son did not say publicly about Jagan threatening him.
