CHITTOOR: Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday reiterated that he would continue his fight against the state government for its ‘anti-farmer’ policies. Launching his rythu porubata after performing pooja at Kanipakam temple, Naidu slammed the government for not coming to the rescue of the farmers despite their pathetic condition due to heavy debts.He criticised the government for not taking adequate relief measures and announcing minimum support price for their produce.Stating that crops worth thousands of crores was destroyed, Naidu said groundnut crop in an extent of about one lakh acres was destroyed.Blaming the government for its failure to supply nine hours of power to farmers as promised in the election manifesto, he said the government has no moral right to propose increase in the power tariff which would put a heavy burden on consumers.In Maddipatlavaripalli he interacted with a farmer and inspected his dried up sugarcane field.He took buttermilk offered by the farmer.The TDP chief lend his hand to a farmer tilling a land in Gajulapalli and interacted with farmers at several places.Earlier, Naidu was given a rousing welcome at Renigunta airport.Srikalahasti MLA Bojja Gopalakrishna Reddy and Nagiri MLA G Muddu Krishnama Naidu, district TDP president Mahadevanaidu, Praveen Reddy, Kodela Hemalatha received the TDP chief and took him to Kanipakam.The padayatra started from Kanipakam and passed though several villages covering 15 km.Party activists and women accorded him traditional welcome with harathi, in the villages all along his 15km long padayatra.Naidu, who set out on padayatra around 2 p.m from Kanipakam, along with party leaders, reached Puthalapattu in the evening where he addressed a meeting.Reiterating an unrelenting fight against rampant corruption, Naidu said that TDP alone would provide a clean administration.He exuded confidence that TDP would bounce back to power.
