HYDERABAD: The South Central Railway will conduct a drive on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, against the use of tobacco and smoking in trains and railway premises.The drive will be closely monitored by B Mohan, inspector-general, Railway Protection Force, who instructed officers to implement the Tobacco Prohibition Act.A rally will be flagged off by R Vijaya Mohan, additional railway manager at 9 a.m on Tuesday from the Railway Sports ground, which will culminate at the Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.The RPF had arrested 11,326 persons in 2010 and 2,078 persons till April this year for smoking in trains and stations. A fine of Rs 6,44,511 was realised. Railway police also detained 3,694 persons in 2010 and 1,430 till April this year, under the Tobacco Prohibition Act and total penalty of Rs 6,94,735 imposed.
