Nod for amendment to article 371: Veerappa Moily

KOPPAL: A cabinet sub-committee on Home Affairs has given its clearance for a proposal of amendment to Article 371 of the Constitution, to facilitate special education and employment opportunities in the backward Hyderabad-Karnataka region, said Union Minister for Corporate Affairs Veerappa Moily. He was speaking at a press meet during the party’s bypoll campaign here on Monday. After due consideration with the Union Law Ministry, the proposal would be taken up for discussion and Parliament approval in the next session. Even as the proposal required amendment to the Constitution, the opposition parties have been stalling proceedings of both the houses, he regretted.
