New Delhi: After launching its first set of Android phones at MWC 2014 back in February, Microsoft-owned Nokia has now launched its new Android-based smartphone, named the Nokia X2. It is the first Android phone released by Microsoft after acquiring Nokia's phone business in April.
This budget phone looks identical to its predecessor, but has a slightly bigger display. The Nokia X2 has a 4.3-inch ClearBlack display and a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and flash.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor featuring a dual-core 1.2Ghz CPU and 1 GB of RAM. The Nokia X, on the other hand, has 512MB of RAM. The improved RAM may boost the performance of the new budget Nokia X2.
The Nokia X2 debuts the next-generation Nokia X software platform 2.0 and other enhancements to the user interface. The new Android smartphone has a home key alongside the regular back key that we have seen on the company's first set of Android phones.
The Nokia X2 will be available in glossy orange, black and green, with glossy yellow, white and matte dark grey coming later to the lineup.
The Nokia X2 will be available initially as a dual-SIM device and will begin rolling out globally in July 2014 for 99 euros. The phone is likely to hit the Indian market at a price under Rs 10,000.
