BALANGIR: The CBI team on Tuesday reached Balangir to probe the alleged irregularities in the implementation of MGNREGS in the district.Headed by senior inspector S S Yadav, the team met DRDA Project Director Sanatan Mallik and collected inputs before leaving for field investigation.Yadav said that CBI’s basic objective will be to look into financial irregularities which have led to diversion of Central funds.He said the team would also look into whether machineries were used in place of labourers.BHAWANIPATNA: The team said that investigation would be carried out in 16 villages of Kalahandi. The villages came under scanner earlier when Centre for Environment and Food Security, an NGO, conducted a study on MGNREGS here.KORAPUT: The CBI team headed by inspector Sudhanshu Bhusan Mishra held discussions with the administrative officials and sought relevant documents. They said the CBI would concentrate its investigation in Nandapur, Laxmipur, Jeypore, Borrigumma, Boipariguda and Bandhugaon blocks.
