BANGALORE: Waiting for budget for this year, the Opposition in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is wondering whether this year's budget will be able to shoulder the burden of old and new projects in the city.
Alleging that the ruling party has not been able to gather enough funds for last year's projects, both JD(S) and the Opposition party leaders have criticized the ruling party for leaving many projects incomplete.JD(S) leader Padmanabha Reddy said that the last year's budget estimate was close to `8,848 crore. He alleged that only around `2,500 to 3,500 crore were sanctioned and many projects still remain incomplete.

He also said that the amount sanctioned by the state government is not sufficient. The government sanctioned `300 crore. He alleged that it is being used both for BDA as well as BBMP projects. He also criticized the ruling party for the delay in the budget.
