BANGALORE: The High Court on Thursday directed the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner Siddaiah to take appropriate action against the officials who were responsible for giving false information about the road (which belonged to the Army) to the court and to file a fresh affidavit stating the factual position of the road leading to Ramareddy Layout in Domlur within eight weeks. The division bench consisting of Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice H G Ramesh told the BBMP commissioner who was present in the court to first set his department right and asked him not to take the court lightly. The court asked Siddaiah why the court was misled by the BBMP by stating that the road belonged to the BBMP when it actually belonged to the Army. The court directed him to file an affidavit stating the reasons for the misrepresentation of facts within eight weeks.Siddaiah filed a fresh affidavit on Thursday stating that the road in question belonged to the Army and not to the BBMP.BackgroundEarlier, the BBMP counsel had wrongly submitted to the court that the civic agency wanted to declare the road as public road as it belonged to the BBMP.Therefore, the court had summoned the commissioner to know it directly from him.
