Jharkhand: Palamau Express going from Barkakana in Jharkhand to Patna derailed after suspected naxals blew up a railway track in Latehar district late on Tuesday evening.

The station master said the blast occurred around 8 PM near Kuchila village between Chhipadohar and Barwadih stations.

The engine and three coaches of the train jumped the rails following the blast, Chhipadohar railway station master RP Bhagotia said. However, there was no casualty or injury to any passenger due to the derailment, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Palamau Range) Saket Kumar Singh said.

However, passengers are stranded at a nearby railway station. "We are not sure whether we will be rescued from here or not, some people are saying another train will come but some others are saying it won't," said one of the stranded passengers.
