Passengers robbed at bus stand

BHUBANESWAR: That Baramunda Bus Stand is fast turning out to be unsafe for passengers was proved yet again after four miscreants barged into a parked bus and looted two persons on Monday.  The bus conductor too was robbed by the four who were reportedly armed with sharp weapons. The robbers decamped with ` 10,000 from them though police claimed that just about ` 600 was looted. When the incident occurred, a number of buses were parked in the stand. Sources said, the four entered the bus and looted Ratnakar Das and Pravakar Khatua who were in the bus. The bus conductor too was robbed. The miscreants claimed that they were in possession of firearms. Police, on the other hand, said the four were alcoholics and looted ` 600 from the two. They also said, the bus had been cancelled for the day.
