Plea against drunk biker

CHENNAI: A writ plea has been made in the Madras HC for a direction to traffic cops to register a case on a complaint relating to a road accident allegedly caused by negligent driving by an inebriated motorcyclist.According to advocate VS Suresh, when his client SG Lokesh Kumar of Anna Nagar West Extension was driving, a drunk motorcyclist hit his car on July 31 last year. While the pillion rider sustained injuries, the motorcyclist died later.Kumar lodged a complaint on August 2. As there was no action, he filed the present criminal original petition. Justice T Mathivanan, before whom the petition came up for hearing on March 9, directed the government advocate to get instructions and posted the matter for further hearing on March 15.
