BANGALORE: In a new twist to the Darshan-Vijayalakshmi spat, city-based advocate A V Amarnathan has filed an application before the Advocate General seeking to initiate criminal contempt proceedings against actor Ambareesh and others for ‘abetting’ Darshan.Amarnathan filed the application under Section 15 (1)of the Contempt of Court Act before the Advocate General on Wednesday stating that actors Ambareesh, Jaggesh, ‘Duniya’ Vijay and Rockline Venkatesh made Vijayalakshmi withdraw her statement and give contrary statements. This amounted to inference with the judicial process and hence, contempt of court, Amarnathan said.He said when Vijayalakshmi filed a complaint that Darshan had assaulted her, an FIR was filed for offences under Sections 498A, 323, 355, 506(B) and 307 of the IPC, and Sec 27 of the Arms Act. But the next day, these actors forced her to retract the statement.
