Plea to reinstate lead inquiry officer

KOCHI: A petition has been filed before the Kerala High Court challenging the state government’s decision to change the lead officer of the Special Investigation Team inquiring the second Marad communal carnage.The petitioner, Gokul Prasad, submitted that the investigation which was nearing conclusion required continuity. “The investigation headed by C M Pradeepkumar has gone a long way into the truth. There is obviously no reason to transfer the head of the investigating team at this point of time. “The issue investigated by the special investigation team requires continuity in investigation,” the petitioner said, and sought a directive to quash the order transferring Pradeepkumar.
