Moscow: Cooperation in energy, defence and space are expected to top the agenda of talks Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will have with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg on Monday.

The Prime Minister will be arriving in St. Petersburg on Sunday to attend the G-8 plus Outreach nations summit under the rotating Russian presidency.

Intensive exchange of visits have taken place between senior officials of the two countries, including recent Russia visits by Defence Secretary, Defence Production Secretary, Chiefs of Air and Naval Staffs as well as by Indian Science Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman.

Indian Ambassador to Moscow Kanwal Sibal said Singh and Putin would "review progress" and hold parleys on the issues that require "intervention" of the top political leadership.

"The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has given the nod for the acquisition of three-more Talwar Class stealth frigates from Russia and the Indo-Russian Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) positioning agreement is moving ahead smoothly under which ISRO will launch several Russian navigational satellites," Sibal said.
