TIRUNELVELI: People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) coordinator S P Udayakumar, on Friday, urged the state government to remove M R Srinivasan from the expert panel on Koodankulam and sought the inclusion of Geology, Oceanography and Hydrology experts in the team.Udayakumar, on Friday, said his organisation welcomed the State expert panel, but was not ready to accept the inclusion of M R Srinivasan, former chief of atomic energy commission, who was pro-KKNPP. Pointing out that in 1980s, Srinivasan had inspected the site where project was now situated and had spoken in favour of the KKNPP, he said since the State expert committee was an impartial one, a partial person could not be accepted. The PMANE would urge Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to replace Srinivasan with another expert. He wanted the State expert committee to meet the people living in and around Koodankulam and base their report on their views. Making it clear that he did not insist for the inclusion of PMANE in the State expert committee he said that he wanted the panel to meet the expert committee members of his movement as well.
