ROURKELA: The unofficial results pouring in from seven Zilla Parishad (ZP) seats in Sundargarh district hinted at nominees of Congress, BJD and Biramitrapur MLA George Tirkey being ahead in two seats each.  The infighting between Urban Development Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak and Rajya Sabha member Mangla Kisan has proved costly for BJD which has performed below par.Sources said BJD led by Mangla was ahead in the Rajgangpur (A) ZP constituency while the Congress was better positioned in the Rajgangpur (B) constituency. In Kuanrmunda (A) seat, George’s nominee was ahead while BJD was leading in the Kuanrmunda (B) seat. Similarly, in Lathikata (A) seat Congress was ahead with George’s nominee leading in Lathikata (B) seat. The BJD is faring well in the Lathikata (C) constituency. While the BJD nominees under Sundargarh party organisation district led by president Mangla have put up a face-saving show, it was not the case with Nayak. In the first phase polling to eight seats, BJD was ahead only in one.
