Virudhunagar (TN): A construction worker was arrested for allegedly murdering his six-month-old-epileptic son by hurling him into a well since he could not afford to treat the child, police said on Sunday.
Police said 25-year-old Mareeswaran was arrested after he confessed to killing his son, as he could not provide for his treatment and also had differences with his wife.
Police said the woman was shocked to see her husband and child missing when she woke up last night.
Later, when Mareeswaran returned alone today, she questioned him about the baby.
He, however, gave contradictory replies following which she lodged a complaint with the police, who questioned him and found that the baby had been hurled into a well.
The body was found in the well, police added.
