New Delhi: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international working president Pravin Togadia has written to Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB) accusing the intelligence agency of snooping. He also accused the agency of questioning VHP and Hindu Helpline volunteers at various places across the country.
India Helpline and Hindu Helpline are two organisations run by the VHP for providing medical assistance to the poor and the needy.
The RSS affiliate which spearheaded the Ram Temple movement claims many renowned people from various walks of life have been associated with the initiative.
"We as citizens of India always thought that central IB works hard to protect the country...getting inputs on terror attacks.... However, we are saddened to see Central IB question and push the said volunteers to give details of how India and Hindu Helpline operate," Togadia writes in the letter.
Demanding apology from the intelligence agency, Togadia said IB should have instead cleared any doubts regarding the functioning of the two helplines with him.
A copy of the complaint has been sent to Home Minister and the Prime Minister.
