Amid the outrage over the Pune Porsche case, a member of the Juvenile Justice Board, Dr LN Danwade, who granted bail to the 17-year-old, was trolled on social media heavily for not wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler. In videos widely shared on social media, Danwade, who granted bail to the teen after making him write an essay, was seen running away without answering questions being asked by a group of reporters surrounding him.
Social media users commented on the video pointing out the JJB member was not wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler. “No problem. The traffic cops will tell him to write an essay about the joys of riding a scooter without a helmet,” one user wrote.
Another user tagged Pune Police and Pune Traffic Police and wrote, “I expect you to note this scooterist without a helmet and take action as per traffic laws. There should be no difference when it comes to enforcing law.”

Danwade had been under fire for letting the 17-year-old, who killed two bike-borne IT professionals after hitting them with his Porsche car while driving in an intoxicated state, go free without any strict punishment.
The board had asked the teen to work with the traffic police in Yerawada for 15 days, write an essay on the accident, get medical treatment to quit drinking and undergo psychiatric counselling.
The JJB board, however, overturned the bail order later sending the 17-year-old to observation home till June 5.
