Railways nod for foot overbridge likely

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The Railways will ‘positively consider’ giving clearance for the state government’s proposal for constructing a foot overbridge from Thampanoor Bus Stand to the East Fort side, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Thiruvananthapuram division Rajiv Dutt Sharma told Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday.Sharma had called on the Chief Minister at his office. He also informed Chandy that the work connected with the road overbridge near the Vadakkancheri Railway Station will be expedited. He also briefed the Chief Minister on the status of track doubling project and about the land acquisition in Kottayam and Alappuzha districts. V Rajeevan, Additional DRM, also was present.
