HYDERABAD: The special CBI court on Monday remanded VD Rajagopal, former vicechairman and managing director of the AP Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) to judicial custody till November 25, in connection with the illegal mining case involving the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC). Rajgopal was arrested and remanded to sevenday CBI custody on November 14.After seven days of custodial interrogation by the investigating agency which ended on Monday, he was produced in the special CBI court which remanded him in judicial custody till November 25.After the magistrate pronounced the orders, CBI officials shifted him to Chanchalguda central jail Rajagopal's counsel filed a petition seeking bail in the special CBI court.Magistrate B Naga Maruthi Sharma adjourned hearing on bail petition to Tuesday. Rajgopal's counsel also filed a separate petition seeking a special room in the Prison under 'Acategory'. IT Dept's Plea Adjourned to Nov 23 Meanwhile, the plea of Income Tax department (IT) seeking the court permission to direct the CBI to share information on the seized documents was adjourned till November 23.Retired IAS Officer Appears Before CBIRetired IAS officer B Kripanandam, who worked as secretary for mines earlier, appeared before the CBI here on Monday. The CBI officials recorded his statement in connection with the illegal mining case involving Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC).Kripanandam also faced corruption charges in 2003 when he was the secretary of Board of Intermediate Education. The government is said to have received many petitions against Kripanandam, some of which were referred to the ACB for an inquiry. There are allegations that Kripanandam had transferred lecturers on a largescale without following rules.
