HYDERABAD: A class VIII student ended her life on Friday by setting herself ablaze at Dundigal after her mother allegedly reprimanded her for her poor performance in academics.A Malleshwari (15), was a student of R K Model school. According to police, Malleshwari's mother, Padma, rebuked her for not performing well in her academics.When Malleshwari and her sister, Sandhya went to school Malleshwari asked Sandhya to go inside the campus and that she would join her in sometime. Meanwhile, Malleshwari returned home, locked herself in the bathroom, doused herself with kerosene and set herself ablaze.After setting herself ablaze, she came out running and collapsed on the road. She suffered 100 p.c burns and died instantly.During investigation, it came to light that Padma rebuked Malleshwari due to which she might have ended her life depressed over it. Close Shave for 100 RTC PassengersHYDERABAD: Nearly 100 passengers aboard an RTC bus had a miraculous escape after the vehicle came to a halt after hitting the lake bund at Shamshabad on Friday morning. The bus, belonging to Rajendranagar depot, was proceeding from Nagireddypally to Shamshabad. As it reached Dondapally lake around 8 a.m., its steering got detached and the bus veered off the road.It sped towards the Dondapally lake and even as the passengers were terrified of a mishap, the bus came to a halt after hitting the bund. The bus was jam-packed with nearly 100 passengers. RTC authorities, who came to know about the incident, rushed another bus to the place and shifted the passengers - majority of them students - to their destinations.
