HYDERABAD: Reiterating his party's demand for immediate reconvening of the state legislative Assembly to debate the no-trust motion, Telugu Desam  senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said here on Monday that there were no past instances of speakers rejecting notices given for  moving no-trust motions.“It is very sad that the speaker has not acted on our notice for no-trust motion so far,” Ramakrishnudu told reporters. He pointed out that the Assembly was not prorogued and it was adjourned sine die. "We cannot understand why the speaker is not examining our notice for a no-confidence motion. He should take a decision soon," Ramakrishnudu added. The TDP leader, a former speaker, also dismissed the argument by the ruling party that there was no need to debate the motion as the government proved its majority in the elections of the speaker and deputy speaker elections. The government developed cold feet, he remarked.Ramakrishnudu accused YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy of double standards. Jagan held a meeting with his MLAs and asked them to vote for the Congress candidate in the Speaker election. At another press conference, another TDP leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy refuted Jagan's allegation of TDP-Congress collusion. YS Rajasekhara Reddy had, as an opposition leader, never served a notice for moving a no-trust motion against the TDP government. “Did it mean that YSR had colluded with the then TDP government,'' he asked.Chandramohan Reddy criticised Jagan for not taking his MLAs to the Raj Bhavan in a show of strength. “Why is Jagan going back on pulling down the government?'' he asked.
