Jharkhand Urban Development Minister Suresh Paswan was asked on Saturday by Assembly Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta to have a re-look of the proposed locality where the government would resettle 92 displaced families after some members expressed concern over the availability of land there.
Adjourning till Monday a call attention motion, the Speaker asked the minister to reply after visiting the place to address the concerns raised by couple of MLAs, who said resettlement of families should not affect the settled people.
The minister replied that the 92 displaced families would be resettled at Madhukum after CPI (ML-Liberation) MLA Vinod Kumar Singh asked through the motion the status of the government proposal to resettle the families displaced during anti-encroachment drive in Islam Nagar and Naga Baba Khatal about three years ago.
However, former assembly Speaker CP Singh of the BJP and ruling Jharkhand Janadhikar Manch MLA Bandhu Tirkey sought to know what would happen to the already settled families after the new settlements.
When the members were not satisfied with the minister's reply that there was land for constructing multi-storied building to resettle the 92 families, the speaker asked Paswan to have a re-look and make a reply on Monday.
