Rheumatic disease survey to be held

BANGALORE: The ChanRE Rheumatology and Immunology Centre and Research plans to conduct rheumatic disease survey to ascertain the prevalence of rheumatic disease among the Bangaloreans.According to the institute, the data available from various camps suggest the presence of the disease in our country, as at par with west. More than 50 per cent of the patients seen in the rheumatology camps were patients who did not receive proper care. Providing better care to these patients could relieve more than 50 per cent of the patients.The procedure"We have designed and developed a questionnaire which will help us collect the data. The interviewer visits the house and explains the need of the information as well the privacy policy to obtain the consent. The whole interview will not take more than 10 minutes," Dr Chandrashekara, Medical Director, CRICR said.
