Rajasthan Public Service Commission on Thursday cancelled RAS-Pre examination held in October last year after Special Operation Group burst a gang which had leaked the paper.

The decision was taken in a full commission meeting, RPSC Secretary Naresh Kumar Thakral said.

The exam will now be re-conducted in two months and the dates will be finalised in a couple of days, Thakral said. An internal analysis of the result, which was announced recently, led to the burst of the gang which had leaked the papers to some candidates who cleared the exams.

The committee analysing the results found several candidates belonging to the same families securing high ranks in the merit and some other doubtful facts following which the commission requested the DGP to get the matter investigated.

During the investigation conducted by SOG, it was found that one Amrit Lal Meena, a government college lecturer along with his accomplices had managed to leak the paper and sold to relatives, SOG sources said.

After the investigation, the gang was burst, they said.

"Five members were arrested on Tuesday and three accused including the gang leader Amrit Meena were arrested yesterday," they said.

"The decision to cancel and reconduct the exam was taken in the interest of lakhs of candidates who took the exam and for maintaining the sanctity of the exam," the Secretary said.
