HYDERABAD: Shouting the slogan 'Do or Die', the suspended Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constables (SCTPCs) on Monday set a deadline of 48-hours for the state government to cancel their suspension orders.As many as 30 candidates, who were suspended from training from several police training centres, staged a dharna in front of the statue of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at Punjagutta and hung a memorandum on the statue's hand."We have staged this unique protest as YSR had promised to look into our issues," said Kiran Kumar, one of the suspended trainees.The Police Training Centre officials had suspended the training of 450 trainees since there were cases booked against them for participating in a protest demanding the release of selection results which were pending for over two years.Kiran Kumar said that they had begun the protest against the state government's callous attitude and said they would not hesitate to go on a fast-unto-death. The Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes (BC) Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah extended his support to the protest.
