THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A three-week-long multi-adventure camp organised by Southern Air Command (SAC), Akkulam, to promote adventure spirit and camaraderie among the air warriors, has concluded. The camp had opened on April 16. In Phase I, skydiving, parasailing and power hang gliding were conducted from April 16 to April 22 at Air Force Station, Sulur. The Indian men and women skydiving team also participated in the camp. A total of 136 skydives were carried out from AN-32 aircraft, in addition to 90 power hang glider sorties and 78 parasailing launches, a Defence spokesperson said. In phase II, rock climbing and beach trekking were conducted in Thiruvananthpuram from April 23 to April 29. Twenty-five air warriors undertook beach trekking from Shangumugham beach to Kappil lake in Kollam, covering a distance of 70 kilometres in four days. As many as 103 Air Warriors and their families participated in the rock-climbing camp. In the last phase of the camp, jet skiing and aqua sailing were conducted at Kappil lake from April 30 to May 6. Sixty-eight aqua sail launches were carried out during seven days. Approximately 300 air warriors and their families participated in this phase.
