VIJAYAWADA: A scuffle between separatist BJP activists and supporters of Unified Andhra Pradesh of Congress was witnessed at the 60th death anniversary of Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu here on Thursday.The trouble began when BJP city president K Venkatapitchaiah and four other leaders raised separate Andhra slogans after garlanding the statue of Sriramulu at Radham centre.District Congress incharge Naraharisetti Narasimha Rao and Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Samithi general secretary Konijeti Ramesh obstructed the BJP leaders.This led to a tussle between the separatist BJP and Samaikyandhra activists. The two groups were involved in a wordy duel for 15 minutes. Traffic SI Ashok who reached the place, intervened and pacified both the groups.Meanwhile, students of Gandhi Women's College paid rich tributes to Sriramulu for his sacrifice for the formation of AP state.
