HYDERABAD: Though Saturday was a working day, the state secretariat wore a deserted look with the absence of a majority of ministers, employees and visitors. Even chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy confined to his camp office near Begumpet to perform his duties and reviewed the strike situation with officials there only.
Except for one or two ministers (deputy chief minister C Damodar Rajanarsimha and revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy) out of 39, none went to the secretariat. Almost all Telangana ministers have stopped going to their offices since the launch of Sakala Janula Samme on September 13 following a call given by the Telangana JAC. Apart from the deputy CM, two city ministers- D Nagender and M Mukesh Goud- are attending their duties regularly. As for the secretariat staff, who number about 4,000 who include 600plus Telangana employees, the staff attendance is put at 75 percent on Saturday. Already, half of the Telangana staff are on strike by staging demonstrations inside the premises in support of the Sakala Janula Samme which entered the 12th day. As usual, more than 200 Telangana Secretariat JAC members organised protest demonstrations near the JBlock building on Saturday.
